Our Purpose

Our purpose is to protect wildlife primarily birds, to promote its conservation, and to contribute to the preservation of biodiversity.

What we do

１． Public awareness for conservation.

History

March 1947

To promote protection of birds and its public awareness, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Ornithological society, research organizations, and aother parties joined together to form "Japanese Society for Preservation of Birds(JSPB)" .　　　　　　　　　　　　* Ministry of Education: the present Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology　　　*Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry: the present Ministry of Agriculture,Forestry and Fisheries

December 1957

Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry permitted JSPB to become a syndicate.　

1962

Hitachinomiya Highness became the president of the organization.　

December 1971

JSPB became a Public Interest Foundation.
